Care of your Essany Cabinetry
With proper care, Essany cabinetry will provide a lifetime of use and satisfaction. Proper care involves attentive cleaning and careful avoidance of some damaging household cleaners.

Upon Installation
Wipe cabinets clean with a soft, water only dampened cloth and dry immediately with another soft dry cloth. Apply a thin coat of a high quality polish. Choose a polish that contains no silicon or wax and follow the manufacturers instructions for applications. Essany Custom Cabinetry recommends Guardsman Concentrate Cream Polish.

Basic Cleaning
Wipe with a water only dampened soft cloth and promply wipe dry. Use a clean dampened cloth with a solution of a mild wood soap, such as Guardsman Wood Cleaner, or Murphy's Oil Soap and water to remove oil, grease, or daily spills. Do not use dishwashing soap, as it contains harsh detergents that will damage the finish. Avoid using strong soaps, abrasive cleaners, or self polishing waxes. We do not recommend using paste wax because of buildup and yellowing effects over time.

Avoid Excessive Moisture
Moisture is one the worst enemies of any finish. Cabinetry near the sink and dishwasher, and also the baseboards, are most susceptible. Immediately dry off areas where water has spilled.

Avoid Exposure to Amines
Amines are nitrogen containing compounds, such as ammonia and bleach, which will damage the finish of your cabinetry with prolonged contact. Avoid exposure to these potential sources of amines: ammonia based cleaners, automotive polishes, floor waxes and cleaners, some adhesives, and plant fertilizers.

Guard Against Scratching and Abrasion
Avoid using abrasive pads and cleaners as them will dull fine finishes. Any kitchen that sees normal use will inevitably develop nicks and scratches. Repair of these nicks can be made by use of touch up sticks and pens that are provided in your installation kit. If your installation kit is not available, you can email us and povide us with your name, job number, (which is located on the bottom side of any drawer), and shipping address, and we will provide you with a touchup kit for a nominal cost. If you have a larger scratch that needs refinishing, contact us for shipping instructions.

Limited 3 Year Warranty

We warrant our products to be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal home use for as long as 3 years from date of purchase. Our obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or exchange of any part or parts which may thus prove defective under normal home use and service within the warranty period, and which our examination shall disclose to our satisfaction to be thus defective. This warranty does not cover expenses involved in the removing or installing of any item or product.

This warranty applies only to defects and does not apply to the mellowing and aging of wood products due to photo-degradation to its finished appearance (effect of natural and artificial light to woods and finishes). This warranty only applies to the original purchaser of products at the original site of installation.

This warranty shall not apply to our products or any part thereof which has been subject to accident, negligence, alteration, abuse, misuse, defective installation, improper storage, or normal wear and tear. We make no warranty whatsoever in respect to accessories or parts not supplied or manufactured by us.

This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties of merchantability and fitness for use and of all other obligations or liabilities on our part, and we neither assume, nor authorize any other person to assume for us, any other liability in connection with the sale of our products. The purchaser hereby waives all other remedies, warranties, guarantees, or liabilities (expressed or implied) arising by law or otherwise, including, without limitation, actions for consequential or incidental damages.

To File A Warranty Claim

To file a warranty claim, the purchaser should contact the local authorized dealer or distributor from whom the cabinets were originally purchased. The authorized dealer or distributor will obtain the information necessary to make a claim decision and forward such information to Essany Custom Cabinetry, for action on the claim. Warranty claims must include a complete description of how the defect occurred. Keep this booklet handy. You will be asked to present it upon filing a warranty claim.
